Revisiting 2025: All the highlights that made the year a success

What a year it has been for Wings Rhythmic Gymnastics Club! 2025 was marked by international success, community recognition, and inspiring workshops. In this article, we revisit some of the 2025 highlights that made this year great for the club.

International Medals in Belgium

In April, the club won 5 medals at Forza Cup international tournament in Ghent (Belgium). Tokyo 2020 finalist Viktoriia Onopriienko personally awarded the medals and certificates, inspiring our gymnasts and delivering a stunning GALA performance to close the competition.

Record-Breaking Cartwheel Workshop

February saw our most popular workshop yet, with over 40 participants mastering and improving their cartwheels, building strong foundational skills. This workshop was open to members and non-members, and it will be taking place again in February 2025

Parade Award & National TV Feature

Our vibrant appearance in the Athlone St. Patrick’s Day parade earned us third place for Best Parade from the Croí na hÉireann Committee. Highlights of the parade were also featured on RTÉ, showcasing our club to a wider audience.

Cheerleading Masterclass with Team Ireland

In July, Team Ireland members visited fresh from achieving the highest ever placement for a Senior Irish team at ICU World Champioships 2025 in Orlando (US), to lead a masterclass in beginner cheerleading stunts, tumbling, and dance, culminating in a mini routine created by our participants.

International Judges at Winter Cup

December’s Winter Cup was elevated by the presence of internationally experienced judges, including a World Challenge Cup official, providing valuable exposure to top-level judging standards.

Club director Enya Tierney commented: "Thank you to all our members for making this year truly special. All the milestones achieved in 2025 give us the motivation to continue to improve and reach new heights!"

2025 has set a strong foundation for the future, and we look forward to more growth, achievements, and memorable moments ahead!
