WRGC to Take Part in the St.Patrick's Day Parade in Athlone Followed by a Show

Wings Rhythmic Gymnastics Club will be marching in the St.Patrick's parade Sunday 19th of March, organised by Athlone Croí Na hÉireann. Close to 40 gymnasts from different levels and ages will be representing the club this day with the support of Marsh Nissan Athlone. Participants will give stickers to children in the audience, perform gymnastic skills, and take some ribbons; depending on the weather. After the parade, there will be an informal event at the club where our competitive squad will be performing their routines in preparation for their upcoming Grading Competition in the Gymnastics Ireland National Series with all welcome to attend.

Drop-offs will take place between 1 – 1.15 pm at Planet Bowling Alley (not to remain parked in the area to alleviate any congestion and facilitate other arrivals). The gymnasts are advised to wear their Wings tracksuits, or alternatively, any comfortable clothes with the club colours -black, white and gold- club committee member and amazing volunteer Susan Grehan has kindly volunteered to provide St. Patrick theme face painting for anyone interested.

Those with sensory issues can watch the parade on John Broderick street as this will be a sensory-aware zone. After the parade, the doors of our venue will be opened at 4 PM, where the competitive squad will be performing their routines and judged on Execution and Artistry by club judge Enya and future judges James and Dzeneta.
