WRGC is thrilled to announce a significant milestone with the successful allocation of €15,000 through the Sports Capital Grant for the "Rhythmic Gymnastics in the Midlands Equipment Fund" project the club is about to undergo. Minister Peter Burke (Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment) had this to say in correspondence with Wings Rhythmic Gymnastics:
It’s a testament to the hard work you and your committee put into it, and I have no doubt the funding will prove hugely beneficial to your community for years to come.
Project Overview
The project, titled "Rhythmic Gymnastics in the Midlands Equipment Fund," aims to provide the athletes with the necessary tools and resources to excel in their sport. With this generous funding, the club plans to:
Purchase New Equipment to make classes more inclusive such as sensory equipment, high visibility place markers and many more.
Improve Training Facilities by installing adequate flooring (this will help with knee and back injuries), and the purchase of a rhythmic gymnastics mat and a tumbling mat.
Invest in the safe training of our athletes by purchasing proprioceptive tools to enhance training, extra padding in the gym for less risk of accidents such as padded walls, mirrors to check posture and alignment (this will help us minimise overuse injuries) other equipment to manage crowd control.
Acknowledgment of Support
The club expresses gratitude for the support received in pursuing this grant and extends its heartfelt thanks to Minister Peter Burke, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
Community Impact
The allocation of this grant will not only benefit the club but will also have a ripple effect across the community. By investing in young athletes, the club aims to:
Promote Physical Activity: Encourage more children and teenagers to engage in physical fitness and develop healthy habits.
Foster Team Spirit: Build a sense of camaraderie and teamwork among participants, enhancing their social skills and personal development.
Encourage Talent Development: Provide a platform for aspiring gymnasts to reach their full potential and represent the club at competitions.
The club looks forward to witnessing the positive changes this funding will bring. WRGC is committed to using these resources wisely and effectively to ensure that the athletes can thrive in a supportive and well-equipped environment.
The community is invited to stay tuned for updates on the club's progress and to join in celebrating this achievement. Together, they can make rhythmic gymnastics a vibrant and integral part of the community's culture for years to come!
